FAQ’s

Can you diagnose types of disorders, such as eating or personality?

No - this falls outside of the counselling remit. If you have concerns for yourself or others regarding this, please contact your GP.

What should I do if I need to cancel a session?

I need a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel a session, and this won’t result in a charge for you. If you have a free consultation booked, please let me know as soon as possible if you need to rebook.

Do you work face to face?

Yes. I conduct these sessions from Wintern House in Fishguard.

I’m a child or young person looking for counselling. Do my parents have to know that I’m having sessions?

This depends on a number of things, such as who would be paying for your counselling and your age. All sessions are confidential, and there are limitations to that to protect your safety. This can be discussed further in a consultation.

Myself or my child are on a waiting list for counselling with a charity or CAMHS. Can I still work with you?

It’s a case by case basis, and we may be able to work together whilst you wait for help from specific services. Please contact me to arrange a counsultation so we can discuss in more detail.

I work shifts so my working hours regularly change. Are your hours flexible?

Yes, my hours of work vary so I will endeavour to accomodate your commitments.
